Celebrating Diversity Working Towards Unity! :)

WOW.... What a journey it has been!!

Through the creation of all these posts for this facebook challenge, along with further studies within our education assistant program, our understanding around exceptionalities and inclusive environments is much deeper, but we both realize we have only begun to skim the surface! Human beings are complex! And getting us all to work well together has been a challenge for centuries!!! Continuing to make the efforts to evolve to greater inclusive environments within the school systems is a great step towards promoting unity among us all. And it is worth the efforts!!!

Wouldn't it be amazing if we all were valued for our unique ways of contribution to one another?! We all have something to offer one another; from a smile to someone as you enter a store; to a doctor saving a life in the emergency room. As educators and adults, we can empower our future generations to think, see and above all experience classroom environments and even society differently by planting seeds of awareness and experience towards the celebration of diversity and inclusion among us all. We are their role models. The more we educate ourselves about these exceptionalities and take action to explore the new exciting ways that we can better support all individuals in the classroom and beyond, the more hope there is for greater harmony on this beautiful planet!!

Please watch this video from Shelley Moore. It is encouraging as always and a great way to complete this Facebook challenge and embrace the real one that lies ahead for us all.

And don't forget the Dance Party!! :)

United: Inclusion AS Unity - Shelley Moore (5 minutes)

How we are now evolving from inclusion that is just addressing exceptionalities to the concept of Unity where all students needs are being appreciated and addressed. We become united.
